Initial contract to start ASAP until 03/08/2026 with likely extension paying from $818/day Brisbane CBD or Central Queensland Location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week Travel to project site locations across Queensland several times per month Our client, Department of Education, are currently seeking 7 x Principal Project Coordinators to work directly with clients, or through service providers, to oversee multiple complex building projects from the planning and pre-design phase to practical completion. Responsibilities include: Lead and coordinate end-to-end delivery of government infrastructure projects ranging from $5 million to $100 million Strong internal and external stakeholder engagement, reporting, and leadership skills. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks, including WHS and procurement guidelines. Undertake high level planning to develop the current packages for implementation with schools and communities across Queensland to modernise and optimise facilities. Lead, manage and coordinate all aspects of project and program delivery including financial and human resources, initial planning, construction and commissioning of multiple complex projects within a legislative and contractual framework. Lead and report against key sub-programs and significant projects within the Department’s Investment Program. Develop, maintain and monitor critical relationships with clients, stakeholders and service providers for the purpose of achieving and sustaining a high level of client satisfaction. Contribute to the continuous improvement agendas, including the development of business plans and processes to promote best practice in service provision. Provide high level support to unit managers by retaining an interest in creating, maintaining, renewing and improving built environments for the benefit of end users. Prepare coherent and politically sensitive reports, correspondence and submissions to key stakeholders and clients. Provide advice and guidance to other staff including administration and financial teams. Support the work of other team members through mentoring and training opportunities. Essential skills and experience: Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage with individuals in high-pressure environments. Proven track record coordinating multiple building and construction project deliverables simultaneously Proven experience in managing substantial volumes of documentation. Exceptional presentation skills to attend in school-based meetings, including Parents & Citizens (P&C) gatherings Proven capability in the delivery of government infrastructure projects and understanding of the Project Assessment and/or Building Policy Framework Desirable: A Certificate III or IV in Building and Construction or Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or a related discipline. Please note: The role entails regular travel to schools throughout the month, with occasional overnight stays depending on the destination.
